Linear Production Model vs Circular Production Model

We at Noble Intellectuals & Applications advocate the circular production model in the solutions we provide, for both sustainability and economic reasons.


Until recently, the production and consumption model was primarily linear. It consisted of a sequence of steps from resource extraction, to production and consumption, to waste disposal. This system is highly inefficient and unsustainable over time.


On a planet where consumables like fuels and other materials are limited for our demanding and burgeoning population, both production processes and waste produced have a large negative impact on the environment and living creatures alike.


The way to combat these negative effects is to reinvent our production and consumption model, shifting from a linear economic model to a circular economy that mimics nature’s way of the earth renewing itself by turning waste into resources. This particular economy promotes the reduction of consumption by taking into account not only a product’s useful life, but also the reusing and recycling of a product at the end of its lifespan.


However, in order to successfully implement the circular economy model, everyone has a part to play; for a start, companies must adopt the design of products in accordance with the principles of the circular economy, using waste as raw materials and reducing non-reusable products.
